Harin complains to CCID over mudslinging campaign

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Tourism Minister Harin Fernando has filed a complaint with the Computers Crimes Investigation Division (CCID) pertaining to false allegations related to him being circulated on the social media platform, WhatsApp.

In his complaint to the CCID, the Minister said allegations claiming that he had obstructed the duties of officials of the Anti-Narcotics Bureau are being spread via WhatsApp by a group calling itself the “Professional Group SJB”.

Minister Harin Fernando further said the messages shared on WhatsApp are also found to be slandering the names of President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Malsha Kumaratunga, and himself.
