Cate Blanchett in “TÁR”

(UTV | AUSTRALIA) – Following 2001’s “In the Bedroom” and 2006’s “Little Children,” filmmaker Todd Field finally returns fifteen years later with his third directing effort in the biopic “TÁR” starring Cate Blanchett.

The story is set in the international world of classical music and follows Lydia Tar, widely considered one of the greatest living composers/conductors and the first-ever female chief conductor of a major German orchestra.

Focus Features opens the film in cinemas only on October 7th. Before that, the movie will have its world premiere at the 79th edition of the Venice International Film Festival, which begins next week.
