Issuance of passports to continue today

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Department of Immigration and Emigration has informed that the issuance of passports which was suspended due to urgent maintenance of the computer systems will resume for normal services from today.

However, the one-day service will not be available.

Applications will be accepted today(9) only for individuals who made prior appointments on the 5th, 6th, and 9th of May to apply for a passport under the normal service and individuals who submitted applications for passports on the 5th of May and obtained a number with a seal.

Accordingly, making prior appointments to hand over passport applications has been made mandatory from Tuesday (10).
