CEB Engineers to refrain from attending to power restoration activities

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Ceylon Electricity Board Engineers Union says its members will not attend to power restoration activities outside their working hours from today.

Speaking to media, President of the Union Saumya Kumarawadu said they had launched a work-to-rule campaign a few days ago but attended to and restored power supply interruptions even outside their work hours.

He said a major power outage was reported on Monday and their members swiftly restored power supply to the entire country.

Saumya Kumarawadu noted however that from today they will not be part of power restoration activities after 4.15pm.

He said they are staging the strike for the people and Sri Lanka and to oppose moves to challenge the supremacy of the law and decisions that are detrimental to the country.
