Disney no longer keen on “The Right Stuff”

(UTVNEWS | COLOMBO) – National Geographic’s adaptation of Tom Wolfe’s 1979 non-fiction novel “The Right Stuff” for the Disney+ service has been cancelled.

The streamer has opted not to move forward with more episodes of the Patrick J. Adams-led astronaut drama series following a single season of eight-episode on the platform. Nat Geo is “redesigning its strategy” moving forward and the show was no longer a good fit.

Warner Bros. Television, which produces the series, is looking for a new home for it. Two versions are being shopped around – one with the current cast’s contracts extended, another shifting the focus to the 1980s and featuring a new cast.

DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson are executive producers with Mark Lafferty serving as executive producer and showrunner.
