Hirunika’s arrest warrant recalled

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The warrant issued to arrest and produce Hirunika Premachandra for failing to appear before Court, has been recalled.

Colombo High Court issued warrant to arrest and produce Premachandra for failing to appear before Court over the alleged abduction of a youth in Dematagoda in 2015.

The youth had claimed that he had allegedly been abducted by a group of individuals who had arrived in a vehicle owned by the former Parliamentarian in 2015, and had been assaulted.

Premachandra was not present in Court with her Legal Representatives when the case was taken up this morning (10).

However, several minutes after the Court issued the order to arrest and produce the defendant, Premachandra arrived in Court.

The case will be taken up for hearing once again on 17 June.
