291 Sri Lankans return from the Maldives

(UTV | COLOMBO) – 291 Sri Lankans who were stranded in the Maldives have arrived in the country.

The group was brought back via a special SriLankan Airlines repatriation flight. The UL-102 flight landed at around 11.35am at the Bandaranaike International Airport.

The group was employed in various sectors across the Maldives.

They were subjected to PCR tests upon their arrival at the BIA. Authorities said the group will be held in four hotels in the vicinity of the Airport until the test results are known.

They will be directed to quarantine facilities based on the results of the PCR tests.
