Two dead in Matale after high-tension wire falls on lorry

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Two individuals have died of electrocution after a high-tension electricity cable fell on a lorry in Mahawela, Matale this morning.

The Police Media Unit said that three individuals were in the parked lorry at the time of the incident.

The incident was reported at around 10.45 this morning when a branch of a tree had fallen on the high-tension cable.

Two persons, aged 23 and 27 had died while the other individual had escaped unharmed.

The Mahawela Police is conducting further investigation into the incident.
