National power demand rising – CEB

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Rising national electricity demand has been recorded once again.

The Ceylon Electricity Board stated that rising demand is due to the resumption of work places and factories, alongside a return to normalcy for civilian life.

Accordingly the CEB stated daily power demand has now increased to 43 GWh.

It was noted that hydro power generation continues to remain the largest contributor to the national power supply.
