Bond case: 4 writ petitions to be considered today

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The writ petitions filed by four persons including Former Parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake will be considered before the Court of Appeal today.

Ravi Karunanayake, Group Director of Perpetual Treasuries Arjun Aloysius, a Sri Lanka Central Bank officer Sangarapillai Padumanathan and an officer of the Employees Provident Fund Indika Saman Kumara all filed writ petitions before the Appeals Court yesterday seeking an order against the arrest warrant issued by the Colombo Fort Magistrate.

Warrants were issued for the arrest of 10 persons in relation to a case filed over the controversial Central Bank bond issuance.

The Attorney General, Acting IGP, CID Director, Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake and several others have been cited as respondents in the petitions.

Court also informed the petitioners to inform respondents including the Attorney General of being named as respondents via summons.
