Drinking water crisis in several districts

(UTV|COLOMBO) – A drinking water crisis has arisen in several districts due to the dry weather condition prevailing in the country, stated the Disaster Management Center (DMC).

DMC points out that, 236,556 persons of 55,846 families have been affected by the dry climate.

Accordingly, several Divisional Secretariats of Kegalle, Ratnapura, and Kalutara are currently experiencing a drinking water crisis, stated DMC.

However, measures have already been taken to provide water to the affected areas through bowsers, s Assistant Director of DMC Janaka Handun Pathiraja reportedly.
