(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Commander-in-Chief of the Land Forces of the Russian Federation, General Oleg Salyukov, arrived in the island, on a five-day official visit.
He arrived in the country on an invitation extended by the Acting Chief of Defence of Staff, Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva.
General Oleg Salyukov will attend the National Independence Day celebrations as a special guest.
During his stay, General Oleg Salyukov is expected to meet with the President, the Prime Minister and Commanders of the tri-forces.
