SLFP’s golden era abruptly ended – Buddadasa

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Movement to Protect the Sri Lanka Freedom Party says the present party Leadership has brought an abrupt end to the golden era of the party.

Speaking to a prominent online news portal in the isle, Member of the Movement and former Mayor of Kaduwela GH Buddadasa said the SLFP has been destroyed altogether by the current party hierarchy.

He claimed the sign of the SLFP will only remain up until the Presidential election, adding after the election – the party would cease to exist and no one will be elected to parliament from it as well.

He further noted there are only a few members left in the SLFP and that even its standards had dropped. Buddadasa charged that it was only a facade that some continued to maintain the party, simply to protect their livelihoods and their parliamentary seats.

He lamented that the SLFP had no further use as everyone had moved to the SLPP, adding consequently the end of an era had dawned. (NR)
