8 killed in road accidents over the past 24 hours

(UTv|COLOMBO)- Eight people have been killed in road traffic accidents over the past 24 hours, according to the police spokesman’s office.

The spokesman’s office stated that these accidents have occurred in Panadura, Settikulam, Ududumbara, Moneragala, Kegalle, Kurunegala and Galahitiyawa areas.

A 20-year-old motorcyclist and the 17-year-old pillion have died after the motorcycle crashed into a lorry parked on the side of the road in the Galthude area in Panadura.

In the meantime, a 17-year-old youth was killed when he fell from a private bus in Kumbukkana area in Moneragala.
