High Court rejects Hemasiri and Pujith’s preliminary objections

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Colombo High Court has rejected preliminary objections presented by the former Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Hemasiri Fernando and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara over the revision application filed by Attorney General (AG) Dappula de Livera.

AG filed a revision application requesting the Colombo High Court to issue an interim order against the granting of bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court to Fernando and Jayasundara but lawyers appearing for duo filed objections in Court, which was rejected yesterday.

Fernando and Jayasundara were arrested for failing to prevent the Easter Sunday attacks but later granted bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.
