Flour price hike irks Bakery Owners

(UTV|COLOMBO) – A special discussion between the All Ceylon Bakery Owners’ Association and the Acting Minister of Minister of Industry and Commerce and Co-operative Development Buddhika Pathirana is scheduled to get underway this evening.

The meeting is scheduled to discuss the decision by two private companies to increase wheat flour prices by Rs. 8 earlier this week.

When inquired by UTV News, a member of the Bakery Owners’ Association said three representatives will attend the meeting with the Minister.

The Association yesterday decided to increase the price of a 450g of bread by Rs.5 following flour price hike.
