(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Fundamental Rights petition filed by Chief incumbent of Nalandarama Temple in Nugegoda Thiniyawela Palitha thera pertaining to the controversial Central Bank bond scam is due to be taken up at the Supreme Court today (07th Tuesday).
Notices were issued by court ordering Thiniyawela Palitha thera and the Respondents to appear before court today, as both parties failed to arrive during the previous court hearing.
The petition was filed by challenging the recommendations provided by the Committee on Public Enterprises or COPE through it’s the report on the Central Bank Treasury Bond issue.
Chairman of COPE MP Sunil Handunnetti, 16 Parliamentarians of COPE, the Monetary Board of the Central Bank, Governor of the Central Bank, the Auditor General and the Attorney General were named as Respondents in the petition
