Hambantota protest: 24 before court today

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – 24 suspects arrested and remanded for behaving in an unruly manner during the opening of the Southern Development Project in Hambantota earlier this year, will be produced before Court today (27th Monday).

The case will be heard by Hambantota Magistrate Manjula Karunaratne.

As of now several suspects arrested and remanded on the same charges have been released on bail.

The suspects were arrested on charges of violating a Court order and causing damages to public property on the 7th of January.
