Restrictions for overseas travel of ministers & state ministers

(UTV | COLOMBO) – President Ranil Wickremesinghe has proposed to limit the overseas travel of ministers and state ministers to essential trips.

Cabinet approval has been granted to the President’s proposal which was made in order to minimize the State expenditure after taking into consideration the current economic crisis.

Accordingly, the President has informed that foreign trips should be restricted to essential tasks only and only essential officials or a group consisting of a few should be allowed to participate in such trips.
