Rajitha Senaratne’s Anticipatory Bail Application Rejected

The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court has rejected an anticipatory bail application filed by former Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne.

Senaratne filed the application seeking to prevent his arrest by the Bribery Commission over a controversial sand mining deal that allegedly caused a Rs. 26.2 million loss to the state.

The Bribery Commission told the court that Senaratne had been evading arrest by disconnecting his phone, vacating his residence, and ignoring multiple summons.
