(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Police Special Task Force (STF) and the Tri-Forces will set up roadblocks at all provincial borders from today (12) to prevent the movements of people among provinces as per a Presidential directive, Police Spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ajith Rohana said.
Travel restrictions between the 9 provinces came into effect from midnight yesterday (11) in order to contain the spread of the 3rd wave of the COVID-19.
The inter-provincial travel restrictions will be effective until 31 May.
