(UTV | COLOMBO) – 902 individuals have been arrested in the Western Province on various charges during special Police raids.
The raids were conducted between 6am yesterday and 5 this morning.
515 individuals who were issued warrants against them including 286 under open warrants were also among the group that was arrested during the raids.
387 were apprehended for the possession of illicit liquor, 172 persons for the possession of heroin and 74 for the possession of marijuana.
Police said 33 persons were arrested for the possession of several narcotics including ICE
