No more mid-term teacher transfers

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Ministry of Education has suspended mid-term transfers of teachers at all national schools.

The Ministry said the decision was taken following a request made by principals of national schools.

The principals are of the view that mid-term transfers hamper the teaching process at national schools and also students face a number of difficulties to adapt to new teachers.

However, the Ministry said other teacher transfers will continue to be in effect.

The Education Ministry noted that the next teacher transfer day will be announced shortly.

The Education Ministry is also intending on introducing a new application to implement teacher transfers.
