Apparel industry affected by coronavirus

(UTV|Coronavirus) – The country’s apparel industry has been significantly affected as a result of the threat of the novel coronavirus, that has rapidly spread across the world.

The Secretary of the Free Trade Zone and General Services Employees Union Anton Marcus said the main concern faced in the industry is the lack of raw material.

He said raw material is largely imported from China.

Marcus added that factory owners recently requested the government to provide concessions for the apparel industry to face the present threat of the shortage of the raw material.
