Met. Department warns of heavy showers

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Prevailing showery condition is expected to enhance over the island during today (06) and tomorrow (07), the Department of Meteorology said.

Showers or thundershowers will occur in the most parts of the island after 2.00 PM.

Heavy falls above 100 millimetres can be expected at some places in the North-Western, Central, North-Central, Uva, and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, and in Mannar, Vauniya District.

Showers or thundershowers may occur in western and southern coastal areas in the morning too.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the inland areas of the Western Province and in Sabaragamuwa, and Central Provinces during the morning.
