Train fares increased by a minimum of 15%

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Train fares have been increased by a minimum of 15 per cent, the Sri Lanka Railway Department said.

The Railway Department stated that train fares will be increased with effect from Monday (01). However, the minimum fare of Rs. 10 for the Third Class, Rs. 20 for the Second Class, and the Rs. 40 First Class will remain unchanged.

Although season ticket fares will also change under the fare revision, the fare percentage will remain the same.
