GMOA’s Token Strike: Doctors to strike from 8

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) is scheduled to launch a token strike in the North Central and Eastern Provinces today (23rd Thursday) opposing the Malabe South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine or SAITM.

The token strike will be conducted from 8am to noon.

The Government Medical Officers Association also threatened to launch an island-wide strike action in future, if the government fails to meet their demands.

Meanwhile, the Central Working Committee of the GMOA will convene for an emergency meeting today.

The objective of the meeting is to discuss further steps that would be taken pertaining to the issue surrounding SAITM.
