New housing village to be named after Mahinda Rajapaksa

(UTV|COLOMBO) – A new housing village would be built and named after former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, the Housing and Construction Minister Sajith Premadasa quoted by the State media.

Premadasa on Tuesday (25) stated that the decision had been taken to construct housing schemes in the name after every President of the country. Accordingly, a new housing scheme would be built and named after former President Rajapaksa, he said.

The Minister added that a housing village has already been opened in Hambantota District in the name of the ‘Father of the Nation’ and the country’s first Prime Minister D. S. Senanayake.
