Govt. to charge for the issuance of NIC from today

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Government’s decision to charge a sum of Rs. 100 from first time applicants for a National Identity Card (NIC).

This decision will come in to effect from today (01).

Rs. 250 will be charged for amendments, while Rs. 500 will be charged to obtain a new NIC for a stolen or if the NIC is reported misplaced.
