Additional bank holidays declared for next year

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Ministry of Home Affairs has declared additional bank holidays for the year 2019 in a Special Gazette Notification issued on 13 August.

Accordingly, 15 April, 20 May, and 11 November have been declared as bank holidays next year.

The Ministry in a release announced this Amendment had been made on account of Sinhala and Tamil New Year’s day on 14 April next year as well as Vesak Pasalosvaka Poya Day on 13 May. Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday falls on 10 November next year. Therefore, the Mondays following these days have been declared bank holidays.
