Subramanian Swamy suggests giving Rajapaksa India’s highest award

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Indian veteran politician and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Leader Dr. Subramanian Swamy tweeted saying that the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa should be given the ‘Bharat Ratna’, the highest civilian award of India, for defeating the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Organisation.

“Just as we have awarded Bharat Ratna to Mandela for freeing his people we should award MR for freeing his people and Bharatiyas from LTTE terror,” Dr. Swamy tweeted.

Dr. Swamy visited Sri Lanka recently where he met Rajapaksa to invite him to attend an event in India.
