Bus Strike Continues

(UTV|COLOMBO) The strike action launched on  midnight on Wednesday by the All Ceylon Private Bus Employees’ Association, against the new traffic fines, did not receive the support of the Private Bus Owners’ Association continues today.

Chief Organiser of the Union Kumararatne Renuka said the strike will continue indefinitely until the President responds favorably to their demands.

He stated the union decided to continue the strike as Bus owners are of the opinion that the fines are reasonable while the transport Minister has refused to amend fines.

He remarked bus owners have forced operators to work despite the strike adding clashes were reported due to the issue.
