(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says the ethnic problem in Sri Lanka is the government’s most pressing task. Addressing an event in Aranayake, the Premier said uniting the people of Sri Lanka would be the first task. The Premier said that was the best way to improve the international standing of the country.

Wickremesinghe also said the enthusiasm seen in the public in January 2015 is no longer present but said the support base can be energised by keeping promises. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says international assistance will flow in when issues such as power devolution are solved. He said the economy should be redeemed and that ethnic harmony in Sri Lanka is crucial to that.
