Four Indian fishermen apprehended for poaching in Sri Lankan waters

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Four Indian fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities in the Sri Lankan territorial waters along with a trawler were apprehended by the Fast Gun Boat attached to the Northern Naval Command, in the seas off the Delft Island.

The apprehended Indian fishermen were brought to the naval base SLNS Elara in Karainagar and after a medical examination they were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector of Jaffna through the Department of Sri Lanka Coast Guard, for onward legal action.
