Anuradhapura bank heist: Rs. 80 million worth cash, jewellery robbed

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Cash and jewellery worth around Rs. 80 million were robbed from a State bank in Thalawa, Anuradhapura, the Police said.

The robbery had taken place during the weekend when the bank was closed, the Police said, adding that the bank employees reportedly discovered the robbery when they opened the bank this morning (02).

The robbers have broken into three out of the four safes of the Bank.
