“No trust in current system” – Mahela tells Sports Minister

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Former Sri Lanka Cricketer Mahela Jayawardena on Thursday (14) tweeted a message to the Sports Minister saying he did not have any trust in the current system, in response to the Sri Lanka Cricket Selectors’ request to Sports Minister Faiszer Musthapha to appoint former greats Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardena, Aravinda de Silva, and Roshan Mahanama as consultants to the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Board and also request the services of Muttiah Muralitharan as an Advisor to the spin bowling department.

“With all due respect to the selectors & the sports minister i have spent 1 year in the cricket committee & 6 months in a special advisory committee & no recommendations were implemented. I don’t have any trust in the system. If anyone wants to buy time please dont use us!,” Jayawardena tweeted.
