Jathika Hela Urumaya rejects 20th Amendment

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) on Monday (28) rejected the 20th Constitutional Amendment.

Addressing the media, JHU General Secretary, Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said the proposed 20th Amendment has not suggested changes to the existing electoral system and several other elements that need to be changed at the same time.

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) handed over the draft 20th Constitutional Amendment to Speaker on Friday (25) in a bid to abolish the Executive Presidency.
