Dambulla traditional land owners continue their fast

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The traditional land owners in Dambulla are continuing their fast that was started demanding justice on their lands that were acquired 36-years ago by the government citing for development purposes.

Those who are carrying on the fast say that due to the authorities not providing them a solution so far, they will carry out a protest in the middle of Dambulla town day after tomorrow.

The group began the fast inside an attic in the Centre of Dambulla town on the 4th of this month asking to allow them to develop their ancestral lands.

They went on to state that by selling many lands that were acquired by the government to different people, they have been subjected to great injustice.
