Special Commodity Levy on dhal increased

UTV | COLOMBO – Finance Ministry says that the Special Commodity Levy on imported dhal was increased from yesterday (May 09).

Accordingly, the SCL which was on Rs. 1 for a kilo of ‘whole dhal’ has been increased by Rs.6 to Rs. 7.

Meanwhile, the SCL on split dhal has been increased by Rs.9 per kilo from Rs, 3 to Rs. 12.

The new levy revision will be effective for 6 months, the Finance Ministry said.
