(UTV|COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka and Pakistan will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the fields of training of civil servants, diplomats and youth development during Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena’s visit to Islamabad, Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The MoU, which will be signed between the Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute (BIDTI) and Pakistan’s Foreign Service Academy (FSA) aims to develop cooperation on training and professional development between the diplomatic missions of the two countries.
The MoU will provide the opportunity to enhance relations between the foreign officers in the two countries and to exchange knowledge in foreign policy, international relations, international law, diplomacy, etc.
The cabinet of ministers approved the proposal made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Thilak Marapana, to enter into the proposed MoU during the President’s official visit to Pakistan.
President Sirisena will be visiting Pakistan from 22nd to 24th March 2018.
