Field Marshal Minister Sarath Fonseka speaking to media in Kandy said the Joint Opposition cannot easily topple a government that was elected by the people.

The Minister said around 4,000 people gathering at the Nugegoda junction on a day like this is normal adding he witnessed three buses in the area that were half empty.

Minister Fonseka added a bad bullet cannot topple the government adding the first bullet fired by the Joint Opposition was bad.

Field Marshal Minister Fonseka said the government cannot be toppled easily claiming the government was formed by a population of 6.2 million.

The United National Party (UNP) yesterday dismissed all attempts by the so-called Joint Opposition to overthrow the present government.
