UPDATE: GMOA token strike called off

(UTV|COLOMBO) – UPDATE: The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) called off their one-day token strike launched this morning (30) following discussion with the Authorities.

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) will launch an island-wide token strike on today (30) at 8.00 AM.

However, emergency treatment will not be affected by the strike and the doctors will carry out all emergency care as usual, the GMOA said, adding that the strike will not take place at all children’s, maternity, cancer, kidney, and Army hospitals in the country.
