Navy renders assistance to bring injured mariner ashore for treatment

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Navy rendered assistance to bring an injured mariner ashore for treatment on Tuesday (02).

Injuries were inflicted on the mariner who is attached to the vessel ‘Allfones’ belonging to the Colombo harbour, when he was getting on-board another ship about 11 nautical miles off Colombo Lighthouse.

Accordingly, the P 436 Fast Attack Craft attached to SLNS Rangalla was dispatched to the location to bring the injured person. The injured sailor was administered first aid while on-board the naval craft before he was safely brought to the Colombo harbour. Subsequently, he was rushed to the National Hospital in Colombo for further treatment.
