(UTV|COLOMBO) – Ministers who work for the betterment of society should not be criticised over their race and religion, Parliamentarian Wijepala Hettiarachchi said.

Race and religion should not be used as a tool to gain political power, Parliamentarian Hettiarachchi stressed that only bankrupt politicians use race and religion to gain political mileage and in trying to get political support.

The trend of using race and religion for political mileage tend to be in effect during an election time, he further emphasised.
