(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Dematagoda Police has arrested a Sports Consultant and four students on suspicion of allegedly brutally assaulting a Grade 10 student at a school in Dematagoda.
According to the reports, the suspects, aged 17, 18 and 47, are residents of Dematagoda and Borella.
The 5 suspects will be produced before the Hultsdorf Magistrate’s Court today (24th Tuesday).
The Sports Consultant had forced the 14 year old student who was training in Badminton to start training in Rugby, reportedly.
Subsequently, the student was allegedly forcefully taken to the Rugby room and was brutally assaulted with battens by the four students.
The student is currently receiving in-house treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.
