Party leaders to discuss Local Government polls

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Leaders of political parties are expected to meet today (23) to discuss the forthcoming Local Government Election and reach a decision on its conduct after the report on demarcation was handed over to the Minister of Local Government by the National Delimitation Commission.

The Delimitation Committee reviewing the demarcation of electoral boundaries in local government wards handed over its final report to the Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils Faizer Mustapha on January 17.

The report is expected to be gazetted before January 31.
