(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Chinese Government has donated 2,750 metric tonnes of rice to be distributed among the disaster affected families in the country.
The first consignment of 1,000 metric tonnes was handed over to Disaster Management Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, by Chinese Ambassador Yi Xianliang at the Southern Terminal of the Colombo Port yesterday (22).
Secretary to the President Austin Fernando, Disaster Management Ministry Secretary Kingsley Fernando, Additional Secretary S. Amalanathan and National Disaster Relief Service Centre Director Chaminda Pathiraja were present.
