PHI remanded for accepting bribe

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – A Public Health Inspector accepting a Rs. 10,000 bribe was arrested by Bribery Commission officers yesterday (20).

The bribe was taken from a manager of a hotel in Hantana to provide recommendations for the trade license for 2017.

The PHI attached to Tennekumbura Public Health Inspectors’ Office is a resident of Bowala. The suspect produced before the Kandy magistrate was remanded until January 26.
