President opens new Solar Power Unit at Abhayarama Temple

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena opened the Micro Solar Power Unit installed at the Abhayarama Temple under the sponsorship of Takima Tech Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd, on Wednesday (28). This project has been implemented under the Government’s new community based power generation project ’Soorya Bala Sangramaya’ (Battle for Solar Energy) which is aimed at establishing Micro Solar Power Units in one million houses throughout the country.

This programme launched according to a concept of President Sirisena to boost the sustainable power generation in the country.

The Chief Incumbent of the Abhayarama Viharaya Ven. Muruththettuwe Ananda Thero, Minister Wijedasa Rajapakse, Deputy Minister Ajith P. Perera, Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Kenichi Suganuma, Takima Tech Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd President Kotaki Masato, Directors Toshio Mizushima, Yasuo Kuriyama, Serendip Green Company Chairperson Sahida Hettiarchchi, and many others participated in this event.
