Four new Envoys present credentials to President

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Three Ambassadors and a High Commissioner presented credentials to President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s House, Colombo on Wednesday (28).

Nejmeddine Lakhal presented credentials as the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia while Jose Ramon Baranano Fernandez presented credentials as the Ambassador of Spain, Archil Dzuliashvill as the Ambassador of Georgia, and Conrad Mederic as the High Commissioner for the Republic of Seychelles.

President Sirisena, referring to close bilateral relations with Sri Lanka and the countries represented by the new Envoys expressed confidence that they would strive to further strengthen bilateral friendship and cooperation in many areas including trade, investment and tourism.

While the High Commissioner of Seychelles will be based in Colombo, others will function as non-resident concurrently accredited Ambassadors with residence in New Delhi.

Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake, and Acting Secretary to the President Austin Fernando, and Foreign Secretary Esala Weerakoon were also present on this occasion.
